

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 10:In a moment of immense pride for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Honourable President of India has approved the designs created by Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram, a well-known honorary logo designer from the Islands, for the prestigious President’s Colours of the Puducherry Police.
Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram has designed both the President’s Colours Flag and the President’s Colours Badge for the Puducherry Police. The designs have now received formal approval from the President of India, marking a significant recognition of his artistic excellence and creative contribution in the field of emblem and insignia design.
The President’s Colours is one of the highest honours bestowed upon a police force in India, awarded in recognition of exceptional service, dedication, and commitment to duty. The approval of designs from an artist based in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for such a distinguished honour has brought widespread appreciation and pride to the Union Territory.
Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram is widely recognized for his innovative and meaningful design work. His contribution to the President’s Colours Flag and Badge further highlights the emerging creative talent from the Islands, which continues to gain national recognition.
His achievement has been warmly appreciated by officials, dignitaries, and members of the public, who have extended their congratulations and wished him continued success in his future creative endeavours.
Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram, currently serves as an Administrative Officer at the ICMR Regional Medical Research Centre, Port Blair. Over the years, he has designed more than 100 official logos and insignias for international, national, and state-level government organisations entirely on a voluntary and pro bono basis, without receiving remuneration.
His notable works include the official logos of the Indo-Africa Defence Dialogue 2022, World Bicycle Day 2022, MILAN Naval Exercises 2014 and 2018 of the Indian Navy, the ASEAN-India Ministers’ Meeting 2016, Navy Day 2023, and the Army Day Parades of 2024 and 2025. He also contributed to the base design of the ₹75 commemorative coin released on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first hoisting of the National Flag at Port Blair.
Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram’s creative works have been utilised by multiple departments of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the Indian Navy, the Indian Army, Delhi Police, Puducherry Police, and the Union Territory administrations of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. In recognition of his dedication and service, he has been awarded the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s Commendation Certificate twice, in 2019 and 2020.
