Diglipur, May 8, 2026: In a swift anti-narcotics operation, Diglipur Police unit arrested one person and recovered suspected methamphetamine and ganja during a raid conducted on May 8, 2026, following credible intelligence inputs.
According to police sources, information was received at around 1300 hrs that a private worker and resident of Naveen Nagar, Ward No. 01, Diglipur, who was already involved in a previous drug-related case, was in possession of illicit narcotics. The information was shared with Mr. Rahul Vikram, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur.
Acting on the direction of the SDPO, a raiding team led by SI Mohd. Rafique, I/C PS Diglipur, was constituted. The team, along with independent witnesses and necessary equipment, proceeded to the suspect’s residence and intercepted him near his house.
As per details, before conducting the search, the accused was informed of his legal rights under Section 50 of the NDPS Act. During his personal search, police recovered 1.47 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 3.62 grams of suspected ganja.
The contraband was seized on the spot in the presence of independent witnesses and a Gazetted Officer, following due legal procedure. The accused, identified as Mr. R Biswas, 34 years, was taken into custody after completion of all formalities, and a case is being registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway, more details are awaited.
