Port Blair, Feb 24: Indian Coast Guard Ship Aruna Asaf Ali saved a distressed vessel along with seven personnel on board from sea at 1900 Hrs on 23 Feb.
The Ship whilst undertaking search operation for missing fishermen interrogated FV Madana off Cinque Island at 1645 hrs.
The fishing boat informed that it was carrying out search for MSV Sagar which was on passage to Neil Island and had lost contact with the agent since 22 Feb. ICG Aruna Asaf Ali carried out quick appreciation and conducted radar search in area. MSV Sagar was located at 1900 hrs, 20 Nautical Miles South East off Port Blair.
The vessel was adrift due to engine breakdown and total power failure. The vessel was taken under two by ICGS Aruna Asaf Ali at 1930 hrs. The ship along with MSV Sagar entered harbor safely at 2200 hrs on 23 Feb 12.
