
Sri Vijaya Puram, Apr 06: A special lecture on “Iron Man of India: Legacy and Relevance in Contemporary India” was organized in the Lecture Gallery of JNRM, Sri Vijaya Puram, to commemorate the unparalleled contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to nation-building.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Kanwar Chanderdeep Singh, Professor of History and Dean, School of Social Sciences, Central University of Himachal Pradesh. In his address, Prof. Singh highlighted Patel’s pivotal role in the integration of over 560 princely states into the Union of India and reflected on the continued relevance of his vision in contemporary India.
The programme was convened by Lt. Dr. Vivek Kumar Sahu, who emphasized the importance of inspiring the youth to emulate Patel’s courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment in both personal and civic life.
Faculty members and students from the Departments of Zoology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics attended the lecture. As a gesture of appreciation, books were presented to attentive participants, fostering a spirit of learning and intellectual engagement.
