
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 20: The biannual Coastal Security Exercise Sagar Kavach (A&N)-02/25 was conducted on 13-14 Nov 25 and was coordinated by Coast Guard Region (A&N). The exercise commenced at 0600 hrs on 13 Nov 25 along the coast of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, with the participation of surface and Air assets, from Coastal Security Stakeholders, including IcG, IN, PMF, Forest, Fisheries and other agencies and was terminated at 1800 hrs on 14 Nov 25.
The exercise aims to validate the Standard Operating Procedures laid down for Coastal security, enhance inter-agency coordination and assess the overall levels of preparedness against potential threats and contingencies along the coast. Through realistic scenarios and coordinated responses, the participating agencies validated their operational readiness and communication mechanism.
The Sagar Kavach serves as a vital platform to strengthen the synergy among multiple maritime and Coastal Security agencies for a more robust and resilient Coastal Security Architecture.
The exercise strengthens the commitment of all stakeholders towards ensuring the safety and security of Andaman & Nicobar Islands vast coastline and maritime interest.
