Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 20: This is to inform the public that due to unforeseen technical breakdown, the vehicle ferries MV Austin-III (with effect from the afternoon of 17.11.2025) and MV Karmatang (with effect from the evening of 19.11.2025), both operating on the Chatham-Dundas Point route (Route No. I), have been temporarily withdrawn from service. Consequently, the vehicle ferry service between Chatham and Dundas Point has been suspended until further notice. The Directorate of Shipping Services is making all possible efforts to rectify the defects and resume the operation of both vessels on this route at the earliest and with top priority. Commuters are requested to bear with us and cooperate during this period. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and assure the public that every effort is being made to restore normal services as quickly as possible.
