Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 30:State Bank of India Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Sri Vijaya Puram has completed 13 Days training programme on Geriatric care takers at SBI RSETI. The faculties of the School of Nursing, G B Pant Hospital trained the participants in areas such as elderly health management, personal hygiene, first aid, emotional support and communication skills.
Dr Shiny Varghese, Principal, School of Nursing, GB Pant Hospital expressed her happiness on the successful completion of the training which comes a day before the celebration of the International day of Elderly. The Islands will now have 35 more trained persons in Geratric Care.
Shri Ravi Sankar congratulated the trainees for coming forward for such noble service and advised the trainees to make use of the knowledge gained during the training for generating income and become independent. About 35 women, mostly from the rural areas of Ferrargunj Tehsil took active part and successfully completed the training.
Welcoming the guests, Shri C Raj, Director of the Institute informed the gathering the purpose of such training was to equip the participants with essential skills and knowledge to provide care and support to elderly and bed ridden patients at our Islands. The programmed concluded by the vote of thanks proposed by Shri P K Ummer Farooq, Chief Manager UTLBC.
