Swaraj Dweep, Sept. 30: The A & N Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board organized a series of Awareness-cum-Registration Camps for Construction Workers, including Migrant Construction Workers, at Swaraj Dweep from Sept. 24 to 26. The primary objective of these camps was to facilitate the registration of construction workers and to create awareness about various Social Security Schemes being implemented by the Board for the welfare and benefit of registered workers.
A total of seven camps were conducted during this period, witnessing the active participation of around 150–160 construction workers. During the camps, officials of the Board guided the participants on eligibility, benefits, and procedures for availing welfare schemes.
As a result of this initiative, 85 Nos. registration application forms were received from construction workers seeking enrollment as beneficiaries under the Welfare Board.
