
Port Blair, 28 September :On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Andaman Association of Tour Operators (AATO) organized a special workshop on Taxation & Artificial Intelligence at the ZSI Auditorium yesterday.
The program commenced with a Welcome Address by Shri Mohan Vinod, President AATO, who highlighted the importance of keeping pace with evolving taxation policies and technological advancements for the growth of the tourism sector in the islands. Shri Vinod also expressed his sincere gratitude towards Dr. C. Sivaperuman, Officer-in-Charge & Course Director, ANRC/ZSI, A&N Islands, for his invaluable support in conducting the seminar.
The technical sessions featured two distinguished speakers,Shri Arijit Mondal, Chartered Accountant, who delivered insights on Taxation and compliance relevant to the tourism industry and
Shri S.L. Vinjit, CI (Computer Applications), DEO South Andaman, who shared perspectives on the role of Artificial Intelligence in business transformation and tourism services.
The workshop was efficiently anchored by Ms. Tarannum Mohammad, ensuring smooth flow of the program.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Vel Murugan, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Sri Vijaya Puram, who extended his best wishes for the success of the program and appreciated AATO’s initiative in capacity building for the tourism sector.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Shri K. Hamza, General Secretary AATO, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, dignitaries, members, and participants for making the workshop a success.
The workshop witnessed active participation from AATO members and stakeholders of the tourism industry, reaffirming the association’s commitment to knowledge sharing, professional development, and sustainable growth of Andaman Tourism Sector.
