Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 28: In order to facilitate safe and convenient transportation facilities for commuters, Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, has raised the need for the UT Administration to arrange light-weight battery-operated vehicles between Chatham Jetty and PS Chatham Check-post, Haddo. The initiative is aimed at ensuring safety and ease of movement for the much needed general public until either a temporary bridge or the new bridge becomes operational.
During discussions with the Chief Secretary regarding the status of this proposal, the MP was informed that the Administration is in the process of making necessary arrangements. The facility of battery-operated vehicles will be operational shortly, providing much-needed relief, particularly to elderly persons, patients, and other commuters who require assistance.
This step is expected to significantly ease the difficulties faced by the public and reflects the Administration’s commitment to addressing urgent transportation needs in the area.
