Mayabunder, Sept. 25:As part of Swachhta Hi Sewa campaign, the Mayabunder Forest Division came up with clean-up drives at different beaches under its jurisdiction area in collaboration with local residents. Besides, in a bid to fulfil its commitment towards furthering environmental awareness and afforestation activities through community participation the Division conducted mass plantation drive.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of officials from various Departments in presence of the Divisional Forest Officer, Assistant Conservator of Forests, Block Development Officer and local PRI members, of Mayabunder during which nearly 1000 fruit-bearing seedlings viz Indian Gooseberry, Tamarind, Noni, Guava, Black Plum, Lemon, Custard Apple, Mango, Jackfruit and other local fruit species were planted.
