Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 23: In observance of the International Year of Cooperatives, ARCS Circle IV, in collaboration with the Merchant Navy Officers Cooperative Society Ltd., Dairy Farm, organized a Tree Plantation Drive at the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Brookshabad today.
The programme was graced by Smt. Sumithamol S., Director, CRC, and Shri Jiju Kumar, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (Apex & Central), along with Inspector (Legal), Urban Inspectors, and the Secretary of the Merchant Navy Officers Cooperative Society Ltd. Their presence emphasized the commitment of the cooperative movement toward inclusive development and environmental sustainability.
A special feature of the event was the active participation of the staff and special children of CRC, who enthusiastically engaged in the plantation activity. Officials from the Cooperative Department also interacted with the children and visited the Centre’s facilities, promoting a spirit of care and community connection.
A total of three saplings were planted within the CRC premises, each symbolizing growth, inclusiveness, and environmental responsibility. Though small in number, the initiative held great significance as a gesture of commitment toward a greener future.
