Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 10: Continuing its efforts towards Zero Tolerance on illegal acts involving Forest and Wildlife Produce within South Andaman Forest Division, 100 litre Lahan has been detected and destroyed. On receiving clandestine inputs, the Beat Officers, Mathura and Namunagarh Beat on 09/08/2025 carried out joint patrolling. The team detected and seized 100 litre Illicit Fermented Liquor ‘LAHAN’ from Tractor bhanj RF area under Mathura Beat. The team immediately destroyed the illicit liquor and seized 1 No. Empty Iron Cask, 1 No.Tin Can (20 Ltrs) and Black Tarpauline.
Upon seizure of the articles a case against unknown offender has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Forest Act, 1927. The seized article has been handed over to the Camp Officer, Headquarter, Tushnabad Range for its safe custody.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Mr. Pramod Singh Forest Ranger, Range Officer, Tushnabad Range. The general public are requested to share information on any illegal forest and wildlife produced on the help line number 03192-255228. Identity of the informants will be kept confidential.
