Port Blair, Apr 9: Baba Taarakeshwar puja was performed at Diglipur yesterday. More than 3000 devotees performed this puja. Every year this puja is performed during the Chitra month. In this puja a devotee starts fast and other rituals from one month in advance. All the devotees including children ladies and gents went to Lamia Bay waterfall during day time, a day before and performed puja at the ‘sangam’ of the river and sea and they proceed to Ravindra Pally, Diglipur by filing four kalash with a ‘Baag’ which was decorated with fruits and flowers etc. The 24 Km journey was undertaken barefoot by all the devotees.
After midnight the devotees started to walk towards Ravindra Pally, on their way to Ravindra Pally the Devoties performed puja at Kalipur, Durgapur, Aerial Bay, V.S.Pally, Dakhineshshwar Mandir, Shamshan Ghat, Shiv Mandir Subhash Gram.
Early morning at about 5 am, the devotees reached Ravindra Pally Chanting the mantra ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega” the magnificent view of Devotees carrying the ‘Baag” looked wonderful during the sunrise.
