Port Blair, Apr o9: Mr. P.B.Murugan, Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council along with Mr. LP. Singh, JVC, Mr. Mahendra Prasad, Ward Councillor and Officers of the Council visited the Vegetable Market, Fish Market and the truck stand at Junglighat and heard the grievances of Vegetable and Fish vendors as well the truck drivers.
The Chairperson directed the sanitary Officer to ensure proper cleaning of the market area and the truck stand daily. The EE (works) of the Council was directed to take appropriate action for construction of a temporary shed by the side of the Fish market and development of the truck stand.
On the request of the Ward Councillor the Chairperson and JVC also visited the ground floor of the Municipal shopping complex at Junglighat and issued necessary directions to the officers concerned for cleaning and upkeep of the market.
