Port Blair, Aug 27: In a swift and decisive operation, PS Kadamtala successfully uncovered an illegal drug sale at Kadamtala based on credible information received. The operation was conducted under the direction of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS SDPO Rangat. A dedicated team, led by SI P.M Krishna Kumar, SHO, PS Kadamtala and comprising of HCs Sailen Halder, Pradeep Das, D. Bhattacharya (IRBn) and PC Benedikh Minj, along with two independent witnesses, was immediately formed to take action.
Acting on a tip-off that a person is traveling on a car with registration number AN01Q-3118 is in possession of a significant quantity of illicit Ganja. The team swiftly reached near Roy Garage, Kadamtala and placed Nakabandhi. After waiting for the suspect, the suspected car was spotted approaching Kadamtala. The raiding team immediately intercepted the car and conducted a search, resulting in the discovery of 91 gram of illicit ganja in the possession of the car owner Kiran Mistry S/o Kunju Mistry, 37 yrs R/o Bhakta Road, Kadamtala. Following thorough interrogation, the accused person confessed to his crime. Subsequently, the accused was served notice U/S 35(3) BNSS, and a case was registered at PS Kadamtala under the NDPS Act.
The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Sh. Rahul L. Nair IPS, SDPO Rangat and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
