Port Blair, July 15: An awareness programme focusing on the theme, Mission Shakti enrolment Week was organized by ICDS Urban Project at Conference Hall of Assistant Director, Agriculture Goalghar on 15.07.2024 with the esteemed presence of CDPO of ICDS Urban Project & ICDS functionaries, WHL Staff, OSC Staff, CHL Staff, Poshan Staff, HEW Staff and General public.
Smti. Anjali Bachhar, Mukhya Sevika, ICDS Urban Project formally welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Following this, Smti. Sushma Pandey, Helpline Adminstrator, (WHL – 181) briefed about the Women and Child Development 24×7 Control room established at Social Welfare Board, VIP Road, Junglighat, the toll free Number 181 for Women and for Children 1098. Women Helpline 181 under Mission Shakti scheme intends to provide toll free 24×7 immediate and emergency response to women affected by violence through referral linking with appropriate authority such as police, one stop centre, and hospital and provide information about women related government schemes programs across the country through a single uniform number.
Further, Smti. Santhi Murugesan , Centre Administrator (OSC, SA) briefed about One Stop Centre scheme which provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence during distress both in private and public spaces. The One Stop Centers facilitate immediate, emergency, non-emergency services access to a range of services including Medical, Legal, minimum 5 days temporary shelter, Police assistance, Psychological and Counseling support to fight any forms of violence against women under single roof. She also shared the contact details and address of the One Stop Centre.
In the last , Smti. Zarina Bibi, CDPO of the ICDS Urban Project, emphasized the significance of these control rooms for women and children. She urged frontline workers to raise awareness about the scheme at the grassroots level to empower women and children.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri. R Sheger, District Mission Coordinator, HEW.
