Diglipur, July 05: An awareness program on drug abuse was organized by PS Diglipur, in the Conference Hall, PS Diglipur today.
According to information, the awareness program on drug abuse was aimed to educate and sensitize pharmacists and chemists of Diglipur about the dangers of drug abuse, its negative fallout on individuals, children and society.
The pharmacists and chemists of Diglipur were present in the program while Dr. H M Siddharaju, i/c, CHC, Diglipur was invited to speak on the occasion. Speaking on the event, Mr. Sumanta Das, Drugs Inspector (N&MA) spoke elaborately on drug abuse while Dr. H M Siddharaju, i/c, CHC, Diglipur told the pharmacists and chemists not to sell drugs or antibiotics without a certified doctor’s prescription and he also emphasized on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. It was also said that the details of medicines/drugs sold must be mentioned on the prescription slip for future reference. The pharmacists and chemists were also asked to install CC cameras in their premises/shops so as to recognize/identify the medicine buyers and sellers. The program was conducted in presence of Inspector K Binoj Kumar, SHO, PS Diglipur, Sub Inspector Abdul Shakil.
