
Mayabunder, 5th July 2024: The Mayabunder Badminton Club celebrated World Badminton Day on 5th July, aiming to promote the sport and encourage community participation. The event included friendly matches and exhibitions to showcase skills and foster a love for badminton among participants of all ages.
The highlight of the celebration was a friendly Team Championship tournament organized by Shri. M. Yoosuf, Executive Member of the Badminton Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands (BAANI). The tournament commenced with an inauguration by Shri. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of North & Middle Andaman.
Four teams—AVES, SOUND, INTERVIEW, and CARLO—competed in the tournament. In a thrilling final clash, Team AVES defeated Team SOUND by 2-1.
