Port Blair, Feb 11: Andaman and Nicobar Police in collaboration with the Bureau of Immigration, Chennai has successfully concluded a two-week Basic Immigration training to 75 A & N Police personnel who will be deployed for Immigration Branch at Port Blair. The training, conducted by a distinguished faculty members from the Bureau of Immigration (BoI) Chennai, aimed to equip participants with essential skills in immigration procedures, particularly focusing on international passenger clearance in anticipation of upcoming international flights at VSI Airport and declaration of Port Blair Seaport as e-visa entry port to boost the Yacht & Cruise Liners tourism in A & N Islands.
The training served as a comprehensive initiative to enhance the capabilities of A & N Police in managing immigration processes effectively. The dedicated training covered key aspects of international passenger clearance, e-visa, visa on arrival, Issuance of Temporary Landing Permit, issuance of Shore Leave Passes to the crew members, scrutiny of travel documents, identification of forged travel documents and other various aspects of travel documents ensuring that officers are well-prepared for the operational demands at VSI Airport and Port Blair seaport.
The two weeks of intensive training fostered a collaborative learning environment, allowing participants to engage actively in discussions, simulations, and hands-on exercises. This initiative contributes to the continuous professional development of law enforcement personnel involved in immigration control, ensuring they stay abreast of evolving trends and challenges in the field.
