Port Blair, Dec. 3:In a dedicated effort to equip the students with essential knowledge in the ever-evolving landscape of law, Andaman Law College in association with the Cyber Cell of A&N Police and Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands hosted an enlightening workshop on ‘Awareness on Cyber Crime and Drugs Abuse & Trafficking & its Legal Framework’ on Dec. 1. The workshop aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges posed by cybercrimes and legal aspects surrounding the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Sub-Inspector Abdul Aziz from the Cyber Cell of A&N Police informed the students about the various types of cyber crimes, the intricacies of digital threats, online frauds and the legal framework designed to address and combat cybercriminal activities. He also provided valuable insights on effective strategies to tackle the situations related to such criminal activities. Sub-Inspector Gaurav Banerjee from Police Training School, A&N Police focused on the legal nuances surrounding the NDPS Act. He further discussed drugs abuse cases and highlighted preventive measures to combat the social issues related to drug consumption.
The interactive nature of the workshop felicitated engaging discussions, allowing the law students to raise queries and seek clarification from the experts of A&N Police. Earlier, Ms. Ragini Kumari, Assistant Professor (Law), Andaman Law College welcomed the gathering and co-ordinated the workshop. Nearly 150 students and staff of Andaman Law College actively participated in the workshop.
