Port Blair, Dec. 3:The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) Campaign continued on the ninth day in Gram Panchayat Stewartgunj yesterday under the Jurisdiction of CD Block Ferrargunj. In a significant step towards rural development, a transformative program was successfully conducted under the VBSY campaign at GP Stewartgunj and GP Bambooflat II. The event was aimed at uplifting the community through targeted initiatives and participatory engagement.
The IEC Van of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra reached Gram Panchayat Stewartgunj under the jurisdiction of CD Block Ferrargunj. The event was graced by chief guest, Smti. Padmawati, Pramukh to oversee the activities of the VBSY campaign. Shri M. K Hussain, Pradhan, GP Stewartgunj along with PRI members and the Panchayat Secretary welcomed the Van. At the outset, a welcome song was presented by SHG group under NRLM followed by screening of a recorded message by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. The Pradhan, GP Stewartgunj administered the ‘Sankalp Pledge’ to the gathering.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra witnessed active participation from various Departments and banks striving to implement Government schemes viz. Departments of Agriculture, Civil Supplies, APWD, Industries, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Revenue, State Bank of India, Health, Social Welfare (ICDS) Ferrragunj. Priya Indane, ICAR-KVK, Co-operative Bank also took part in the event. A Nukad Natak on the theme ‘Waste of Food’ and cultural programmes were presented by the villagers of GP Stewartgunj. Beneficiaries under various Government schemes narrated their experiences under ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ to motivate the masses to enroll in relevant schemes.
Apart from that, the Revenue Department distributed Revenue Cards and Property Cards to the beneficiaries. Shri A Ummer, ZP member distributed the cards. The Health Department distributed Ayushman Cards. The programme concluded by a vote of thanks by the Pradhan, GP Stewartgunj.
After completion of the program at Gram Panchayat Stewartgunj, the Van proceeded to Gram Panchayat Bambooflat-II in the afternoon. On arrival of the Van, a grand welcome was accorded by Smt. S. Naseema Bibi, Pradhan, Panchayat Secretary, along with other PRI members and villagers. The Pradhan administered the ‘Sankalp pledge’ to the attendees of the event followed by screening of a recorded message by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
Cultural programmes were organized as part of the event. In the beginning, a dance performance was presentd by the villagers followed by a song by SHG under NRLM. The Revenue Department distributed Property Cards to the beneficiaries while the Health Department distributed Ayushman Cards. Awareness about PM Nikshay Mitra was done by Shri. Dilip Kumar, Sr. Treatment Supervisor, HWC Ferrargunj and DDU-GKY awareness was created by Smti. Sewani Devi, DEO, CD Block Ferrargunj. Participants of dance and song performance were felicitated with a memento by the Smt. S. Naseema Bibi, Pradhan, Shri Kailash Wagh, EO,CD Block Ferrargunj and Shri. Atul Kumar Roy, EO, CD Block Ferrargunj respectively. The program concluded with a speech and a vote of thanks by the Pradhan, GP Bambooflat-II.
