Port Blair, June 16: In a road accident today at 11:00 am, a moving truck carrying a load of ration grocery items overturned on the left side of ChouldaryBachrapahad area. The incident resulted in the driver sustaining minor injuries.
According to initial reports, the truck was in transit from Port Blair to Rangat when the unfortunate accident occurred. While proceeding towards the Chouldary area, the driver was taken by surprise as a car suddenly appeared from the opposite direction. In an attempt to make way for the oncoming vehicle, the driver maneuvered the truck onto a patch of loose soil, which unfortunately resulted in disbalance. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to tilt over onto its side. The cargo of grocery items being transported spilled out onto the roadside.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of police promptly rushed to the scene. The nearby residents also extended their assistance, collaborating with the police to facilitate the recovery of the scattered items.
