Port Blair, Apr 02: As part of the campaign for the 5th April, 2023 Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh Rally in Delhi, CITU Andaman & Nicobar State Committee has organized a Bike Rally from Delanipur to Bambooflat (via Bathubasti, Chouldhari, Ferrargunj, Wimberlygunj) today [2nd April, 2023]. The Bike rally was flagged off at Delanipur junction at 9.45 a.m by Mr. R. Surendran Pillai, President, CITU State Committee. About 100 two wheelers with pillion riders participated in the Bike Rally.
While passing through various places in the rural South Andaman, Mr. B. Chandrachoodan, General Secretary, Mr. SP Kalairajan and Mr. P. Sathyapal, Secretaries of CITU State Committee and senior leader Mr. D. Laxman Rao addressed the participants in the Bike Rally and general public.
Mr. BC Bhattacharjee, Vice President, Mr. Shyamal Kolly, Treasurer, Mr. Anand Rajan, Secretary and Mr. MV Yugandar, Secretary of CITU State Committee led the Bike Rally.
Besides the 14-point All India Demands, various local demands like (i) Regularisation of services of DRMs (ii) Early implementation of High Court order on 1/30th of pay plus DA to all DRMs (iii) Bonus to all DRMs (iv) EPF and Leave benefits to DRMs, etc. were also highlighted during the bike rally.
