
Port Blair, Apr 02: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee on Saturday evening organized an all-party meeting over the issue of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha and to discuss the further course of action.
ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder briefed about the injustice being meted out against their party leader Mr. Rahul Gandhi. He highlighted the directives received from All India Congress Committee (AICC) for organizing protest programmes in A&N Islands. He also asked the support and suggestions of all like-minded parties for the successful organizing of these protests.
Various political parties such as CPI (M), DMK, BSP, SP, RJD and ANJP participated in the all-party meeting.
CPI (M) State Secretary Mr. D. Ayyappan condemned Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha and criticized the BJP Govt. for suppressing the voice of opposition leaders inside and outside the parliament.
Leaders of DMK, RJD, BSP, SP and ANJP said that the action against Rahul Gandhi is an attack against all progressive democratic forces. They all expressed their concern over the voice of democracy being silenced in the country. Finally, all party leaders unanimously decided to support the Congress Party in any kind of agitation it undergoes against Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification. The vote of thanks was proposed by ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker.
