Port Blair, Mar 19: As part of the weeklong celebration of International Women’s Day WITH YOU (NGO) in collaboration with Andaman College (ANCOL), Chakkargoan and Andaman & Nicobar Islands Blood Transfusion Council organizes Women Blood Donation Camp at ANCOL premises on 18.03.2023. Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, DC, South Andaman, Mr. Azharuddin Zainuddin Qauzi, SDM, Mr. Rahul Kumar Bohra, IAS, Probation, Ms. Mariyam Bibi, President WITH YOU(NGO) and her team, Dr. S. Jayakumar, Principal(ANCOL), Dr. Sahina and her medical team, College Staff and Female students -Blood donors(Volunteers) were present during the programme.
The programme started with lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest of the day Ms. Veditha Reddy, IAS, DC, South Andaman, and other dignitaries at 10:00 A.M. Ms. Veditha in her address encouraged and congratulated the Female students, staff and WITH YOU Blood donors (Volunteers). Ms. Mariyam Bibi, President WITH YOU (NGO) welcomed the gathering. Both teams also distributed sanitary pads to the inmates of Girls’ hostel, ANCOL. A total of 20 females donated their blood. Certificates and nutritional packets were provided to the donors by the Medical Team and the NGO.
The programme culminated with vote of thanks by Dr. S. Jayakumar, Principal (ANCOL). The programme was coordinated by Ms. Jochibed Vincent, Nodal Officer, and NSS (ANCOL).
