Port Blair, Feb 22: Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair organized a one day Workshop on LOCAL THEME BASED for the youth. In this programme more than 50 youth participated, the programme held at the auditorium of Maharashtra Mandal.
The programme aims to prioritize various demands and suggestions to address specific needs/local concerns. The local theme-based workshops are in line with the “Targeted Youth Outreach and Awareness” paradigm suggested in the National Youth Policy 2014. The objective of this programme is to enhance the capabilities of rural youth in addressing issues and concerns affecting their daily lives and giving local relevance and context to NYKS action according to specific needs and requirements for the district. To identify the local needs of these islands for which the suggestions of the youth need to be prioritized. In this connection various resource persons Mr. Jawharlall Das , Economic Investigator, DIC Mr. Rajiv Mandal, Director, Physical Education ,Andaman Law College, Dr. RGS Bhagel, Associate Professor, Dr. Milan Halder, lecturer JNRM covered various topics like Future of Work: Industry 4.0, Innovation & 21st Century skills. Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction: Making Sustainability a way of life, Peace building and Reconciliation: Ushering in an era of No War. Shared Future: Youth in-Democracy and Governance and Wellbeing & Sports: Agenda for Youth.
In Earlier, Mr. Sukhranjan Biswas, DD (OSD) Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, A & N Islands delivered welcome speech and highlighted about the aims and objectives of the programme while Mr. Gopal CH Biswas, APA Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair proposed vote of thanks.
