Diglipur, Feb 08: In a fatal road accident, one person was killed after his two-wheeler was hit by a pick-up van late this morning in Diglipur.
According to a report, the man who was on his scooty was hit by a pick-up van while he was crossing a tri-junction near Batgaatchtala, Madhupur &Subhashgram border under Diglipur Tehsil at about 10:00 am today.
The accident victim was immediately rushed to the CHC, Diglipur where he was attended by three doctors and was given IB, oxygen support and other desired medical aids. However, the person was pronounced dead after five minutes at the casualty, the medical source said.
The deceased has been identified as Sankar Das, (47), S/o Mr. Nantu Das, R/o Madhupur, Diglipur. According to the relatives of the deceased, he was going to his shop at Bazaar while the accident happened.
The body was handed over to the man’s family after the post-mortem. The driver of the mini-truck was arrested and a case has been registered at the Diglipur Police Station under the relevant IPC sections, the source added. Further details on the case are awaited.
