Port Blair, Jan 22: The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) today enthralled a large number of public at Marina Park area during first of its two Air Shows planned at Port Blair today.
The Suryakiran Aerobatics Team today exhibited an air show from 3:45 pm to 4:15 pm at Marina Park area and tomorrow another similar Air Show has been planned between 4 pm to 4:30 pm at the Netaji Stadium area.
People who gathered in large numbers in the Marina Park area greeted theSuryakiran team by clapping after every formation the team displayed.
Surya Kiran is an aerobatics demonstration team of the Indian Air Force formed in 1996. The team enthralled spectators in India and abroad till winding down in 2011. In 2015 the team was resurrected on Hawk MK 132 and has steadily built up to four to six to nine aircrafts formation and has reclaimed its position as one of the best nine aircraft display teams in the world, and the only 9 aircraft team in Asia. The display season from September to March will see the team perform as many as 35-40 displays, which will comprise an impressive repertoire of graceful 9ac composite formations followed by the heart stopping synchro maneuvering. The team takes immense pride in showcasing the highest standards and traditions of the IAF and the nation. Teamwork, professionalism and confidence in each other’s abilities are the hallmark of the team members.
