Diglipur, January 13: The 160th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Zilla Parishad Vidyalaya, R K Gram, Diglipur on 12th January 23.
Mr. Mahadev Gain, Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad N&M Andaman was the Chief Guest while Mr. Pradip Das, Zilla Parishad Member, R.K. Gram Constituency was the Guest of honour and Mr. Rishi Prasad Pandey, Deputy Education Officer, Diglipur, Mr. DRR Siddapoa Executive Engineer, APWD were the special guests on the occasion.
During the programme, students from lower classes donned the attire of Vivekananda and stood on the dais and chanted the Swadesh Mantra, while a skit on Swamiji’s life was enacted by the students from higher classes.
Girl students sang songs about Vivekananda and performed classical and traditional dances of India and the audience was spellbound to see each item of the program.
Students of VI to VIII performed a number of yogas on the stage and people were completely mesmerized to watch young students perform yogas so precisely and magnificently.
The guests felicitated the winners of various events. The students from KG-I to XII presented various cultural activities.
Earlier, floral tributes were offered to the statue of Swami Vivekananda and delivered speeches at the culmination of the program, the Principal, VKZPV, Diglipur, said.
