Port Blair, Jan 13: A fire broke out at a vacant paddy land of Sita Nagar Village, Shaheed Dweep this afternoon.
The villagers tried to inform the Fire Control Room about the fire but due to bad network connection they could not reach the Fire Control room. Hence initially the villagers of the nearby area tried to control the fire but they were unable to douse the fire.
Later anyhow the message was conveyed to Fire Services but by that time the fire spread over nearby grasses. As soon as the information was delivered the firefighting team reached the spot and controlled the fire. No one was injured in the incident.
