Port Blair, Dec 01: In a landmark decision, the Lt.Governor (Administrator) of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has revised the guidelines for enhancement of the Rates of Honorarium of Guest Faculty in Colleges under A&N Administration as conveyed the University Grants Commission, MHRD, GOI, New Delhi vide letter No.25-1/2018(PS/MISC.) dated 28 January, 2019, on the following terms and conditions:
1. The Honorarium of Guest Faculty with requisite qualification prescribed in UGC Regulations be enhanced to Rs.1500/- per lecture subject to the maximum of Rs.50,000/- per month.
2. The Guest Faculty to be appointed only against sanctioned post.
3. The qualification for Guest Faculty shall be the same as those prescribed for the regular Assistant Professors of Colleges in UCC Regulations.
4. The superannuated teachers may also be considered for engagement a Guest Faculty subject to a maximum age limit of 70 years.
The revision order bearing No. 3166 was issued by the A & N Administration, Secretariat, Port Blair on 30th Nov 2022.
