Port Blair, Dec 05: Due to efforts of the Secretary of IP&T, Mr. Satish Mathur and IP Division, after a gap of nearly eight years, scribes in remote Andaman and Nicobar Islands will get a Press Room tomorrow.
The new Press Room with all kind of modern facilities has been set up by the Andaman and Nicobar Administration in the building of Islands’ Information, Publicity and Tourism (IP&T) Building.
According to sources in IP Division the Press Room will be inaugurated by the Secretary of IP&T tomorrow.
Meanwhile the media fraternity of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which have been demanding for the same since last eight years, have welcomed the move of local Administration.
The last press room provided by the A & N Administration at the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) complex of Port Blair city, was withdrawn by the Administration nearly eight years back without any notice, causing resentment among Andaman Scribes.
