Port Blair, Sep 15: Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to allot two quarry blocks at Madhupur quarry to Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur.
In a letter, Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Pramukh mentioned that for smooth execution of all construction works by PRIs, the availability of Quarry products is essentially required and plays an important part. It has been noticed on several occasions that due to the non-availability of quarry products most of the works were abnormally delayed such as flagship programmes of Govt. of India, PMGSJ, and Constructions of Toilets under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, etc due to scarcity of quarry products.
He stated that the development of inter 15 nos of panchayat under Diglipur Tehsil depends largely on quarry products from Madhupur quarry.
Therefore, he requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to allot 02 Blocks out of 06 Blocks of Madhupur quarry to Panchayat Samiti, Diglipur so that Panchayat can meet the demands of quarry products by providing a valid permit to registered stone crushing unit Diglipur as per earlier practices.
