Port Blair, May 11: The Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Harinagar has raised concerns to the Secretary (Health), A&N Administration regarding inadequate medical infrastructure and shortage of amenities at Super Primary Health Center, Billiground.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary (Health), A&N Administration, Mr. Manojit Halder mentioned that the earlier administration had converted the PHC into Super PHC, but no new facilities were introduced. The Biochemistry Machine for diagnoses of Blood Sugar at the Laboratory of Super PHC is not functioning for a long time. And the patients are compelled to get blood-related reports from Rangat or from private laboratories. Biochemistry Machine for diagnosing Blood Sugar at Super PHC is urgently required for the benefit of patients.
He said that the old X-Ray Machine of Super PHC always remains non-functional and the patients are compelled to go to either CHC Rangat or CHC Mayabunder for getting an X-Ray report. A Computerized X-Ray Machine should be provided urgently at this Super PHC, he demanded.
Mr. Halder pointed out that a 50KV Generator is required to resolve the problems of frequent electric power cuts in the Super PHC.
Mr. Halder emphasized that DHS should organize a Super Specialist Camp at PHC Billiground so that the general public can avail the benefits of the camp.
Mr. Halder requested the Secretary (Health), A&N Administration to take necessary action in this regard and provide necessary medical infrastructure and amenities at Super PHC, Billiground.
