Port Blair, Apr 17: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), in its current form, was upgraded on 16th April 2010 and has continued to make great progress toward the vision set for its future. The day marked the commemoration of the passion, professionalism and commitment that DBRAIT achieved so much in the past academic year.
In amalgamation with the nation’s celebrations of 75 years of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav (AKAM), the ceremonious day provided an opportunity to reflect upon the progress made by the institute since its inception. The event started with BRAIT ALMA, students and staff planting samplings of Guava, Papaya, Jack fruit, Mango and Dalchini to adorn the DBRAIT campus with fruit-bearing trees. The institute celebrated it with aplomb, collaborating with a team from DHS to donate 40 units of blood for critical requirements towards health care.
DBRAIT which always strives to build swatchhta skills in students and ensure they take ownership of maintaining clean campuses, executed the 5S concept for the sustenance of cleanliness which transformed the campus into a copious clean and well organized learning abode. Wall paintings on the theme of AKAM displayed the colourful and responsible thoughts of DBRAIT youth.
With their innate talents, students delightfully adorned the corridors of their classrooms with creative and attractive Rangoli using in-campus supplies of flowers, leaves and eco-friendly resources. The energy and passion of students to celebrate the history of their institution proved as an incredible way to bond together as a community of students, teachers and staff who promised to collaborate their efforts for the glorification of the institute.
