Port Blair, Nov 21: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the President of Pradesh Congress Committee today visited Guptapara village of South Andaman on request of fishermen community living there.
On behalf of nearly 200 licenced fishermen, some senior members of the village highlighted problems, being faced by the fishermen community in the area.
Fishermen complained that they do not have proper Jetty and black topped approached road. They also said that the Jetty does not have toilet facilities, proper lights for navigation etc. During the interaction Mr Sharma assured fishermen of Guptapara that their issues will be taken up with top priority.
During the tour, Mr. Sharma also inaugurated the sailing of two fishing boats viz MV Mitali and MV Gita of their co fisherman Shekhar in presence of PRI members of Guptapara and others.
