Port Blair, Mar 08: As TDP has become the kingmaker in Port Blair Municipal Council after Municipal Election results, Andaman Sheekha Daily today questioned a senior leader of TDP about their future decision to support any party to form council in PBMC.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Biji George, General Secretary of TDP today said that it is not yet decided which political party TDP, State Unit will support.
“So far we are waiting for a decision from the high command and the final decision will be taken as per the directions of high command,” said Mr. Biji George.
He said that it might take another 2-3 days after which the state unit of TDP will come to a conclusion.
He said that TDP has two major demands. The first demand is that the Chairperson for the first term of PBMC will be from TDP and the second demand is to provide land for TDP state unit’s party office at Port Blair.
He mentioned that so far no party has approached TDP officially but Andaman Sheekha has learnt that unofficially one of both candidates have been contacted by some politicians but they have refused to take any decision without TDP’s committee approval.
