Port Blair, Feb 24: In view of the forthcoming Panchayat and Municipal Election 2022, a meeting with the candidates of different Political parties, who are contesting in the Pahargaon, Ograbraj and Humfrygunj Police Station jurisdiction was held on 23rd February 2022 at the Conference Hall of Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman along with Dy.SP (DHQ), SHO PS Pahargaon, Humfrygunj and Ograbraj.
During the meeting, Mr. Ankit Chauhan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman sensitized the candidates of different Political parties about the guidelines issued by the Election Commission and advised them to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct.
Candidates are briefed about the do’s and don’ts of the Model Code of Conduct. They were urged to maintain Communal Peace, Harmony and to refrain from any illegal activity to induce the voters.
The general public is hereby requested to pass credible information regarding a violation of Model Code of Conduct noticed in their locality to Police at 100, 112 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
