Port Blair Feb 06: In pursuance of Press note by Election Commissioner (UTs), dated 28/01/2022 to hold General Election to Gram Panchayats, PanchayatSamities, ZillaParishads and PBMC, the District Administration has constituted Enforcement team Police Station wise for maintaining Model Code of Conduct and defacement of Public Property vide Nodal Officer (PME) Order no. 76, dated 3rd February 2022.
Altogether 09 Flying Surveillance team, 09 Video Surveillance team and 09 Checkpoint teams have been constituted within the South Andaman district for maintaining Model Code of Conduct. All the Enforcement teams and the Videography teams are active on the field.
The MCC Enforcement team during the field surveillance has removed many posters/banners/flags and hoardings etc. which were found placed/pasted at the public places particularly in the market area at various locations of Municipal area today.
The General Public are requested not to indulge in any such activity which is in contravention and violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
The District Administration has established a dedicated Control room for Panchayat and Municipal Election 2022 to assist General Public which will work 24 x 7 with phone numbers 03192-230178, 238881 & 240127 and toll-free no.1077. In case of any violation found the General public has been requested to inform the Control Room on the above phone numbers.
