Port Blair, Feb 04: The lone ambulance provided to the PHC Hutbay is giving hiccups to the Health Center staffs as the ambulance mostly remains out of service due to frequent breakdowns. According to the public, in many cases even during emergency PHC staffs could not operate the ambulance due to breakdowns.
Now general public of the region are demanding a new ambulance for the PHC Hut Bay.
“Atleast Hospitals must be provided ambulances, which are in good shape, considering the safety of patients,” Mr. Vasudevan Nair, ex-Zilla Parishad Member of Hutbay, Little Andaman told this reporter.
When contacted Mrs. Munni Singhania, the Director of Health Service, told Andaman Sheekha Daily that she is aware of the problem and she assured that soon this problem will be resolved.
The DHS added that the ambulance has developed some technical problems in its battery unit, which will soon be repaired or if needed, will be replaced.
She further mentioned that if the ambulance is still not in working condition then the DHS will submit a proposal to Administration for a new Ambulance for PHC Hutbay.
