Port Blair, Feb 04: An employee of Pathar Gadda Electricity office suffered grievous injury after falling from an electric pole today afternoon.
As per information received, the 32-year old lineman climbed on the pole with the help of a ladder and while working on the ladder, he accidentally fell on the ground and suffered grievous injuries.
Immediately with the help of other staff, he was rushed to PHC Garacharma, from where the Doctor referred him to GB Pant Hospital for better treatment.
In this case, people alleged that absence of any safety gear for the employees was the main reason behind this accident for which the Superintending Engineer of Electricity Department must be held responsible. More details are awaited.
