Port Blair, Dec 26: As part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, Coast Guard under the aegis of HQ Andaman and Nicobar Command conducted a walkathon recently. The walkathon was flagged off by Inspector General D Rajaputhran, TM, Commander Coast Guard. The participants covered a distance of 05 Kms from Panipat Road till Marina Park. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Coast Guard personnel as well as children from different schools in Port Blair. In addition to spreading the message of “Fit India Campaign”, attention of the general public was also drawn towards the importance of maintaining healthy and hygienic living standards.
