Port Blair, Dec 23: Andaman Sheekha Daily had reported about a double murder case from the Rampur, Ward No 5 area of Rangat region on December 20, 2011, in which a father and his son were murdered by another villager.
After the murder the accused Mr. Ranjeet Roy surrendered at Police Station and told Police that he had murdered both father (Mr. Bimal Halder) and son (Mr. Bipul Halder), because they had attacked him first. According to the accused he overpowered both father and son, snatched their machete and killed them.
Now Andaman Sheekha Daily on further investigation has learnt that there is a twist in the story. As per details the police team of Rangat did a thorough investigation in this regard and interrogated the accused further for truth, during which the accused reportedly revealed on the next day that he was the one, who attacked first. Infact the accused reportedly accepted that he carried a spear, measuring 47 cm, and had murdered them after a quarrel.
It is learnt that as per the accused after murder he cleaned and hid the weapon of murder somewhere and also cleaned his cloths, before going to Police Station for surrender. As per sources the weapon of murder was later recovered by police on the next day. The accused was later produced to court from where he has been sent to Judicial Custody.
