PORT BLAIR, NOV 27/–/ The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair celebrated Constitution Day on Friday at Maharashtra Mandal here in which 80 youths participated. The event was organized in association with Maharashtra Mandal and Andaman Ondiviran Welfare Association, Port Blair.
On the occasion, Dr.Ramesh Kumar, Associate Professor, JNRM was the Chief Guest who administered the oath of Fundamental Duties based on the Preamble to the Constitution and Fundamental Duties to the youth. He paid floral tribute and garlanding the portrait of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Further, he addressed to youth about the importance of Constitution Day and biography and great achievement of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. On the occasion others guest Mr. Arvind Patil, Secretary, Maharashtra Mandal, Mr. Suvaramani, Yuva Shakti Finder, Dr. Selvi, JNRM, Dr. Sunita Patil of Vedand Education, Mr. Sathyaraj, President, Andaman Ondiveeran Welfare Association, Mr. Hassan Ali, social worker also present and grace the occasion they paid floral tribute and also spoke on the importance of Constitution Day. Apart from this, Kumari Deepika Roy, and S.Sumitra, student of JNRM also gave speech on the biographies of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Earlier, Mr Gopal Ch Biswas of Nehru Yuva Kendra, welcome the gathering. Mr Jagjeevan Ram, Deputy Director (OSD) NYK proposed the vote of thanks.
