Port Blair, Nov 16: Students of the Government Senior Secondary School, Ramkrishnapur, Little Andaman today organized a strike infront of the school to press their long pending demands.
As per details the students gathered infront of the school in the beginning and later they organized a peaceful rally in protest.
Mr. Paritosh Halder ex-member of Andaman and Nicobar Pradesh Council told Andaman Sheekha over phone that the demands were raised in many levels in past but the demands were not fulfilled and hence this protest was organised.
Among the main demands the students demanded posting of Principal and Vice Principal in the school, new desk and benches, maintenance of school ground, repair of toilet blocks and repair of old school building. There were several other minor demands raised by the students.
It is learnt that member of School Management Committee (SMC) and villagers also supported the strike. Later the strike was called off when the students got some positive response from authorities concerned.
