Port Blair, Nov 08: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Committee member BJP, Member of Home Ministry Advisory Committee, Govt. of India & Former State President BJP A&N has once again requested to increase the convoy operating between Jirkatang to Middle Strait and from Middle Strait to Jirkatang has been curtailed and restricted to a limited movement due to the COVID pandemic since March 2020 through in his letter addressed to Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration. Due to the imposition of the above restriction of movement of convoy the essential services also badly affecting the life and livelihood of the entire population living in logistically constrained district of North & Middle Andaman he added.
Further he mentioned that the difficulties faced by the commuters especially the islanders of North & Middle Andaman, it is once again, requested that the convoy trip between Jirkatang to Middle Strait and vice versa may please be increased (four instead of existing numbers of convoy) by ensuring to maintain the COVID protocols as per instruction from Govt. of India and Andaman & Nicobar Administration from time to time.
