Port Blair, Nov 07: Formation of thick dust clouds was witnessed since last few days in the Billiground Bazaar area of Middle Andaman because of the ongoing ATR construction works for which the general public of the Billiground region has been suffering heavily.
The PHC Billiground and the Billiground Senior Secondary School are also located on the ATR near Billiground Bazaar and due to formation of a thick cloud of dust, the patients and students of the school were also reportedly suffering heavily. Also the people at Billiground Bazaar area were complaining about suffocation and the shopkeepers of the market area were unable to open their shops.
When the matter was taken by Dr. PK Mandal, State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha, and State General Secretary of Hindu Rastra Shakti with Mr. Rama Krishna, Project Manager of Vashisht Mantena Construction Pvt. Ltd. early in the morning, Mr. Krishna heard the matter patiently and realized the gravity of the situation.
Taking swift action he immediately diverted all his focus to the Billiground Bazaar area and directed the officer (Site Engineers) to move all labourers and machineries to Billiground area to spray water based bitumen emulsion over road surface, so that the problem of dust cloud can be resolved.
It is learnt that the work of spraying water based bitumen emulsion started by this afternoon and a major portion of the road near Bazaar area have been covered with water based bitumen emulsion by the evening.
Mr. Rama Krishna further assured that the rest of the work will be completed by night at any cost.
Later the public of the area expressed gratitude towards Mr. Rama Krishna for his prompt action and they also highly appreciated Dr. PK Mandal for placing the issue before the Project Manager and convincing him to start work of spraying water based bitumen emulsion over road surface.
