Port Blair, Nov 03: ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder has conveyed his warm greetings to all Islanders of the Union Territory on the auspicious eve of Deepawali. He wished that the festive season and the year that lies ahead bring a harbinger of peace, happiness, joy and prosperity for the people of this beautiful Islands.
In his message, Mr. Halder said, the divine festival of Deepawali reinforces our spirit of unity and solidarity. May the lamps of compassion, kindness, love and righteousness be lit in our mind and heart. Let good thoughts motive us all to fight against corruption, nepotism, and ill will. We must unite and move on the path of progress and development of our Islands.
“The overarching theme of Deepawali is a celebration of victory of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It also gives us the message to live with social harmony and brotherhood”, he said.
“My heart goes out to everyone who is ushering in this Hindu new year with the recent loss of a loved one. My prayers remain with everyone fighting the pandemic on the frontlines instead of staying safe at homes”, he exhorted
He said ” Andaman & Nicobar Islands is the most successful multi-cultural place on earth and at this Deepawali, I pray tribute to all those who have brought this tradition to our shores”.
He also appealed all Islanders to respect nature and therefore sensibly celebrate the festival avoiding noise as well as air pollution while maintaining extreme caution in burning lamps and bursting crackers.
