Port Blair, Nov 01: As a part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava, ICAR-CIARI, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Port Blair organized a two days training programme on “Pond Based Farming System” under the UTATMA, Department of Agriculture , Andaman and Nicobar Administration , funded project at its Campus at Sippighat from 29th to 30th October, 2021. During the training, lectures were delivered by the experts of Dr. L.B. Singh, Dr. Zachariah George, Dr. Pooja Kapoor, Mr. Tanmai Paul and Dr. Nitu Sindhu covering relevant topics. During, Valedictory function critical inputs viz. fish fingerlings (Rohu, Mirgal and Catla), fish feed and vermicomposting bags were provided to five selected beneficiaries viz. Smti K.Chellamal Rangachang village, Mr. P.Panchamuthu , Calicut village, Mr. Ashim Biswas, Md. A. Samsuddin, Ograbrang and Mr. MadhuMistry , Collinpur . The programme was conducted under the overall supervision and guidance of Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair. A total of 10 farmers benefitted from the training.
